Mycenax Receives 2026 Taiwan BIO Awards Emerging Company of the Year in Recognition of Taiwan-Japan Strategic Expansion

Mycenax Biotech Inc. (4726) received the 2026 Taiwan BIO Awards Emerging Company of the Year at BIO Asia–Taiwan on July 16. As one of Taiwan's most prestigious annual awards for the biotechnology industry, the recognition highlights Mycenax's achievements in commercial manufacturing of globally marketed biologics, international regulatory inspection readiness, overseas strategic expansion, and the development of next-generation biologics technologies. The award also underscores Taiwan's growing strength in biologics CDMO services and Mycenax's expanding role within the global biopharmaceutical supply chain.

In recent years, Mycenax has successfully completed the commercial manufacturing of two globally marketed biologic products, supplying medicines to 13 countries, including markets across Europe, Canada, and Japan. Within a single year, the company's drug substance (DS) and sterile drug product (DP) manufacturing operations successfully passed inspections conducted by six regulatory authorities, including the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and Japan's Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA). These achievements demonstrate that Mycenax's quality systems and commercial manufacturing capabilities meet internationally recognized standards for marketed biologic products.

To further strengthen its presence in Japan, Mycenax has partnered with Alfresa Group, Japan's largest pharmaceutical distribution group, and other Japanese partners to establish Alfenax Biologics. The joint venture participates in Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) supported biosimilar manufacturing initiative. By combining Mycenax's expertise in process development and manufacturing operations with its partners' strengths in pharmaceutical development and distribution, the company is building a dual manufacturing footprint across Taiwan and Japan to enhance the resilience of the Asia-Pacific biologics supply chain.

Mycenax continues to expand its differentiated technology platforms, including its NaxLEAP™ high-efficiency cell line development platform, ExoMX™ exosome manufacturing platform, and MMA Linker™ multi-arm linker technology. The company has also strengthened its next-generation antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) service capabilities through a global CDMO licensing agreement with Japan's RIN Institute for its proprietary VLK linker technology.

In parallel, Mycenax is accelerating its AI-CDMO digital transformation by applying digital simulation and predictive modeling to reduce development trial-and-error and improve process optimization. The company also plans to further integrate development, manufacturing, and supply chain data to enhance operational efficiency and commercial manufacturing consistency.

Dr. Pei-Jiun Chen, Chairman and President of Mycenax, commented, "This award recognizes the comprehensive capabilities Mycenax has built over many years across biologics development, manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and global business development. Beyond enabling customers to successfully commercialize biologic products and ensure reliable commercial supply, we will continue strengthening our competitiveness through Taiwan-Japan collaboration, differentiated technology platforms, and digital transformation, contributing to a more resilient global biologics supply chain."

Looking ahead, Mycenax will continue executing its "Big D, Strong M" strategy by combining innovative development capabilities (D) with well-scalable manufacturing capacity (M). The company will continue advancing commercial products, late-stage clinical programs, and technology transfer projects while further expanding its presence in Japan, Europe, and North America. As more customer programs progress from clinical development to commercial manufacturing, Mycenax expects to further strengthen its long-term growth momentum.
